SYNOPSIS OF INTERVIEW

Laurence Bazer became a chaplain in the U.S. Army in 1989. In his military career, he has served in the state National Guards in New York and Massachusetts. Bazer was present during the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, in New York City, and also served a sixth-month tour in Afghanistan. At the time of the interview in 2013, Bazer was a colonel in the Mass. National Guard, as well as rabbi at Temple Beth Sholom in Framingham.
